Following my undergraduate study in Neuroscience and postgraduate study in Human Nutrition I was fortunate to work for one of New Zealand’s leading holistic health clinics. During this time I witnessed, through first hand experience, the life changing results of a holistic health approach to wellness. By targeting lifestyle determinants such as diet, stress, sleep patterns and gastrointestinal health, and not simply the apparent symptoms, the root cause of health conditions can be addressed to achieve lasting health.
Once upon a time the now commonly used term ‘Health and Wellbeing’ was not thought of, worked towards or desired. It just was! Many humans lived in a way that nurtured their health and the health of those around them, consequently having a long life lived in quality health. We specifically see this in people who live in 'blue zones' such as Sardinia - Italy, Okinawa - Japan and Nicoya - Costa Rica. There was a focus on community, real food, relaxation and having purpose. I believe moving back to these basic principles can have a huge impact on the chronic conditions we now face in New Zealand - obesity, diabetes, heart disease and mental health concerns - as well as the general health of every individual. My aim is to help you identify what is driving your health concern and then set you up for comfortably moving forward. I've used my study, personal experiences and ongoing reliance on the latest evidence-based research to empower you to live the way you were designed to - in optimal health.
